Who We Are
THE JORDAN FAMILY
When two teenagers meet and marry within three months, an adventure is sure to await ...
Standing at the altar all those years ago, 18-year-old BJ and 17-year-old Janet could never have imagined where God's perfect plan would lead them in life; An adventure it has truly been. One filled with ups, downs, joys, sorrows, and lots of laughter! Twenty-one years of marriage, three kids (Gavin, Aubrey, and Laney), and a daughter-in-law (Emily) later, we can confidently say, God has blessed us beyond measure.
For the past thirteen years, we have had the privileged opportunity to grow and establish Crossroads Horse Ministry. The ministry was birthed out of two passions;
(1) BJ's love for God and people, colliding with
(2) Enthusiasm for the western way of life
As parents, we have earnestly sought to raise our children to love God and His people. Now, we are challenged daily with our own commission. By the grace of God, we seek to apply these same principles to every person we come in contact with through Crossroads Horse Ministry.
Originally from Texas, Luke grew up in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. This part of Texas is not exactly a hotspot for ranching. However, deep inside him, there was always a stirring and intrigue towards the western way of life. He spent the first four years after college working for both guest and cattle ranches out west, including a summer with Crossroads Horse Ministry in 2014. He then moved back to Texas, where his family still resides and working in the construction industry. Weaved into every part of his story has been a consistent desire to pour into young men, both spiritually and tangibly.
Since his summer spent with CHM, BJ & Janet left a door open for Luke to come and work as a full-time staff member whenever, or if ever, he felt the Lord was calling him back. Thankfully Luke felt led to rejoin the Crossroads Team in 2017! He is now a full-time staff member, migrating with the ministry as they travel from Missouri to Colorado. Luke says he is excited to see where the Lord is taking this incredible ministry, and Crossroads is so blessed by the faithfulness of the Lord, in bringing on more full-time staff as He continues to grow this ministry for His glory.
MISSION STATEMENT + STATEMENT OF FAITH
"Driven by a deep-rooted love for God and a passion for the cowboy way of life, through the platforms of
evangelism and discipleship, we aim to glorify God and point others to Him."
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, authoritative word of God. We believe it was sent forth to accomplish that
which the Lord desires and to achieve the purpose for which it was sent. (Isaiah 55:10-11)
We believe in one God, who exists distinctly and eternally in three persons; Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) (2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe Jesus came to earth fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and gave His life up
for the atonement of our sins. We believe Jesus was resurrected from the dead and ascended
to the right hand of the Father where He mediates on our behalf until His return.
(John 1:1, 14) (Matthew 1:18, 25) (Hebrews 4:15) (Hebrews 9:15-22) (1 Corinthians 15:1-8) (Acts 1:9-11)
We believe in the Holy Spirit and rely on Him as our Helper. We believe he is present today
and essential in the life of the believer. (John 14:15-26) (John 16:5-16)
The Body of Christ
We believe each person is made in the image of God, and as a believer, is a temple of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the believer is an essential part of a much larger body, the Body of Christ,
which God has brought together in love to unify as one.
(Genesis 1:26-27) (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
We believe all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and because of this, we have been separated from God the Father.
We believe that Jesus committed to taking our sin, humbling Himself to death on a cross.
We believe in order to be reconciled back to the Father we must receive His forgiveness by repenting, believing, and submitting
our lives to Jesus Christ. We believe salvation is by grace, not our works, through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
(Romans 3:21-23) (Isaiah 59:2) (Ephesians 2:12-16) (2 Corinthians 5:21) (1 Peter 2:24) (Mark 1:14) (Ephesians 2:8-9)
